Hello, my name is Niki Oveisi and I am an applicant for the Equity Enhancement Fund. This grant is meant to increase equity on campus in regards to human rights/social justice issues. For my grant proposal, I wish to hold 4 small 10-15 minute skits (2 skits in term one of the upcoming year, and 2 skits in term two). These four skits will be based on the following topics: problems faced by international students, finding your identity, sexual awareness, and mental health awareness. I have envisioned these skits to be portraying scenes that could actually happen on campus, so that dialogue can be started afterwards with the students that are watching the skit. What I ask of you is would your group be able to commit to these events in the upcoming year? Please contact me with any questions you have. All I need is a confirmation that you would be interested in this kind of event, and then we could meet up to talk through the details. Monetary compensation will be provided for your services.

Hi Niki, I’m sorry for getting back to you so late! It was filed in spam, unfortunately. That sounds like a great idea, but in term 2 the mainstage production is mainly focused on the Festival Dionysia. However, term 1 mainstage is open to everyone, you could probably do all 4 skits, we have more than enough time. Information on that will be posted shortly. If you have more questions, you should contact the presidents of the club at president@ubcplayersclub.com. Thank you.
